Long Time...

I have been neglectful of my blog!!!  I will do better.

Michael and I have been very busy with work lately.  That's OK since the weather is stretching it's WINTER wings!  I haven't played golf for 5 days now... and the last time we were out we got blown off the hill after 11 holes (we had pars on the 11th hole though :-)  It looks like it will be a bit longer before we can get out.

We had a great Christmas, too.  Maggie and Tanner, Maureen and Wendell spent Christmas with us.  It is so much fun to have little kids back in the house.  Tanner is 3 and Maggie is 19 months now.  Man - time flies by, honestly.  I cannot tell you how much I love spending time with them.  It will be the end of this month when I head to Mississippi to visit them in their home.  Tanner got a new black lab puppy he named JoJo for Christmas.  I even miss JoJo.  Michael and I picked her up and had her for a couple of days before Tanner got here - she is a sweet SMART little puppy!!!  We'd kind of like to have her back!!!

My best friend from North Dakota is now YOUNGER than me.  Debbie has always been 6 months older, but we decided that on this next birthday for BOTH of us we would move BACKWARDS instead of forward... so Deb is now 48 and I'm 49...  won't be long now and I'll be the same age as she is :-)

I have a few pictures on my camera, but with my new vista computer have not gotten my upgraded Photoshop elements to get them off and fixed up.  I'll get pictures of Tanner and Maggie (SOOO CUTE, they both are) out here for all to see.

Best shut her down right now.  Hope everyone has had a wonderful start to their new year!!!

Race weekend in BRISTOL!!

There are a LOT of people really looking forward to race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Me, too!!!  My grand babies, Tanner and Maggie, come to town and I get to BABYSIT!!!  I am very excited to get to see them - they have always gown a bunch since the last time I got to visit with them.Maggie_aug_07 Tanner_school2_07 Aren't they just the cutest little human beings!!!  That MIGHT be a grandma talking....  OK - it IS a very PROUD grandma talking.  Anyway - they will be here Thursday this week and I can hardly WAIT!!  Oh, their Momma and Daddy and Papaw Carl are coming, too.  I really do look forward to seeing them as well.  And POP is ready for some loud, fun, swimming, sanding, running, riding, car-washing FUN with the monkeys, too!!!!

2007 Pro Ladies Golf Tournament at the Country Club of Bristol

Our team competed in the Pro Ladies Golf Tournament again this year representing Cattails at Meadowview Golf Course.  Jan Compton, Carole Fuller, Cindy Jones and I played a scramble with Cattails pro Rusty Jones on his own ball.  We had a very good day and shot a 57 winning the tournament by 3 strokes!!!  (This was our second year in a row winning this tournament!)  It was very hot has it has been in East Tennessee for the last few weeks, but a ton of ice water and bottles of sunscreen and we survived.  Bristol is a beautiful course and we enjoy playing it every year!!!  We especially like bringing home a nice etched glass trophy!!! Dsc_0017e Dsc_0019 Thanks to Cattails for the sponsorship again this year.

EWGA Sectional Golf Tournament in Louisana!

Sador Black, Jan Compton, Suzanne Donaldson and I went to the Sectional EWGA golf tournament at the TPC Louisiana Golf Course in Avondale, Louisiana AND WE WON!!!  We are off to the National EWGA Competition in Nashville, TN on September 7 and 8.  Wish us luck AND good play.  We finished second in the National tournament in Chandler Arizona last year and would like to move up one place in this one!!!Dscn1105

We had a couple other ladies go along to complete and we all placed.  Mary Dave is also going to play in the National EWGA Championship tournament!!!  We are preparing and really looking forward to it!  Nashville - HERE WE COME!!!

Yes! We are alive and well...

I have been very negligent about keeping up my blog.  I tell you, since my daughter has started her photography business I have been getting pictures from her and not taking many myself - so I don't have many to put up on my blog.  But I do have a camera and Michael and I were lucky enough to have a free weekend together weekend before last.  We went to the Gatlinburg area and spent the night... played some golf at a very beautiful course and had a nice supper out and wonderful pancakes from our favorite little pancake shop in Gatlinburg.  It really was a special treat for us.Dsc_0005e Dsc_0002 Dsc_0014

As you can see the golf course is a real mountain course!!!  We'll have to go back when the leaves are turning.  I imagine it will have absolutely the most wonderful views and colors!!  (PS - Mike shot a 74 and I shot a 73!!! :-))))

Busy..... Busy.....

Wow, summer has been busy.  Does it seem to anyone else that time is flying faster and faster every year???  I've always heard the older you get the faster time flys.  I guess it's true.  Not to mention that I love summer and all the great thing associated with it like GREEN golf courses and playing with the grandkids outside...  so I guess it goes REAL fast because we are so BUSY, too!20may003dltannermaggie

You can see from the picture that Tanner and Maggie are getting REAL big... and that Maureen is getting real good at taking kid's pictures.  She is building up quite a business doing it.  Her kids have to be the most photographed kids in the world!!!   The sit pretty good for her usually.

Enjoy summer!

Miss Deb -

Please mention my good friend Debbie in your prayers...  she is having surgury on Friday to remove a lump...  We pray it's just one of those things that should come out and all will be fine.  She is a very strong person and will deal with whatever will be - but I pray she just has to deal with a few stiches.  LOVE YOU, DEB!!

Much Better...

We did much better the end of February with out golf outings.  Myrtle Beach was a great improvement over the SNOWMAN here in Kingsport!!  Mike and I, Cindy and Charlie and Doris went down for almost a week.  (We missed Roger something TERRIBLE, but he wasn't able to go :-(  On Charlie's birthday we went down near the ocean and ate at a great restaurant - look at the beautiful sunset!!Dsc_0029

Dsc_0045 Mike had to take care of the girls all alone on our last day...  AND it was very windy - but we had a good time!

Dsc_0013 We played one day at WICKED STICK - the wind turned out to be VERY wicked (making it COLD)...  and it was the slowest play of the trip - I had time to take out my camera...

It isn't so bad to have had to come home this time - the spring weather is right around the corner.  AND we get to SRING forward this weekend.  HAPPY SPRING TO ALL!!!

We have FINALLY done it...

We've totally lost our minds.  Saturday, February 17, was the Annual Snowman Tournament at Cattails Golf Course here in Kingsport.  Every year so far it's been 50 to 60 degrees and sunshine, but THIS year...

It really was not cold (of course we had cart covers and heaters :-).  We did pretty good, too - shot 7 under all the while making snowballs out of our golf balls!

Mvc026s Well - this is one more thing we can put on our "WE'VE DONE IT" list!!!

Long time

It has been a long time since I have updated my blog.  I hate to post without pictures and I just have not taken many lately.  Maureen keeps me supplied in really good pictures of my grandbabies - so I've tended to leave her to the photos.  But I got this cute quick one while I was in Mississippi a couple of weeks ago.  It was SOOOO good to see the babies but VERY hard to leave.  Especially when leaving also includes a 10 hour drive home.  Here is Tanner holding his baby sister Maggie.  They love each other very much - it's already very evident!  She watches every move he makes as he flies around the room and he want to hold her every chance he gets.  If she drops her pacee - he is very quick to poke it back in her mouth!!0205070834a  They are both such happy little cuties!
